A compact platform with clear responsibilities.

The gateway, DNS, automation, storage and remote Home Assistant roles are separated across dedicated hosts with clearly documented responsibilities.

Four hosts with clearly separated responsibilities.

The FRITZ!Box provides the internet gateway. Pi-hole handles local DNS, the main Raspberry Pi runs automation and core services, and the UGREEN NAS carries storage-heavy applications. A separate remote Home Assistant server completes the environment.
